(Yellow Springs, OH) - All I can say is it's nice to have an international, comedic superstar living in the Dayton area. Dave Chappelle lives around here, too! (ba dump bump) Two nights of Dave Chappelle's Juke Joint brought even more stars to a working farm in the small village of Yellow Springs, OH. Along with Dave, musician Frederic Yonnet, The Band With No Name and Dj D-Nice were the billed acts for both nights, but Dave is always good for a big surprise or two. Day 1 had special guests Naomi Campbell , Bradley Cooper , Q-Tip and few others while Day 2 featured an appearance by magician David Blaine , a surprise performance by another area native, John Legend , as well as, a performance by jazz pianist Robert Glasper and another Tribe Called Quest member, Jarobi ("Can I kick it...?"). U.S. Capitol Building Tour

( Washington, D.C.) I recently visted the U.S. Capitol Building and was lucky enough to receive an escorted tour from a friend who works in the building. Of course, the Capitol Building is where House and Senate members meet to debate and vote on the laws of our nation, so it was a little inspiring to be able to spend a little time there during my visit to Washington, D.C. The public is provided a chance to tour the Capitol Building through the new Capital Visitors Center (CVC) which was a massive project dug out below the East Capitol grounds. Tours are provided there with an advanced reservation, and from what I saw of these public tours, they provide a chance to see a great deal of the Capitol Building and the numerous historic rooms and picturesque art it has to offer. YOUSUF KARSH: AMERICAN PORTRAITS

( Dayton, OH ) - You may not know the name Yousuf Karsh but you've probably have seen at least one of his images and will be extremely familiar with many of the icons and idols featured in his portraits. YOUSUF KARSH: AMERICAN PORTRAITS opened June 23rd at The Dayton Art Institute and gives you an opportunity to visit with these beautiful photographs and learn about this brilliant photographer who grew up in the midst of the Armenian genocide. This traveling exhibit was organized by the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery and features a companion exhibit of photography from the art institute's collection by Daytonian, Jane Reece (1868–1961) that coincides with her 150th birthday. Exclusively in black and white, Yousuf's portraiture style comes through in each of these 20th century photographs, showing his impeccable use of light and shadow and his well-chosen backgrounds and poses.
