Miami Beach, FL) - I'm very excited to be headed to
Art Basel in
Miami Beach this December. After several trips to galleries in
Dallas, Ohio, D.C and
New York City this year, visiting galleries in Miami with thousands of art enthusiasts from around the world will be fantastic way to end my year of art appreciation. The international art show in Miami features works from over 4,000 artists from more than 250 of the world's leading modern and contemporary art galleries, Art Basel Miami Beach has continued to be one of the premiere art shows in the world since its debut in Miami in 2002. Some of the artwork displayed from new and established artists has never been seen by the public. Art Basel Miami Beach draws over 70,000 visitors each year who range from casual art enthusiasts to international collectors. The show also appears each year in
Hong Kong and its original location in
Basel which is situated at the borders of
Switzerland, France and
Germany.

Not only are there thousands of square feet of indoor gallery exhibits, but the show also includes an outdoor public exhibition of large scale sculptures and installations. Some of the works will even remain on display after the show has ended and into February. Located in
Colllins Park, the public exhibition is a collaboration with the
Bass Museum of Art and curated by internationally recognized expert, Nicholas Baume, Director and Chief Curator of Public Art Fund.

Boasting more than artwork, other areas of interest are represented at Art Basel, as well. The film exhibitions present works by some of today’s most exciting artists across two venues: inside the
Miami Beach Convention Center, and in the outdoor setting of
SoundScape Park where works are shown
on the 7,000-square-foot outdoor projection wall of the
Frank Gehry-designed
New World Center. The magazine space is where Art publications from around the world display their magazines in single-magazine stands or the collective
booth. Editors and publishers are often present at the show and many magazines contribute presentations to our Salon series, a schedule of presentations, lectures, and discussions by a range of speakers. Art Basel's stimulating program of Conversations and Salon talks allow audiences to deepen their knowledge of artistic practice, the international art world, and the art market.

The show is organized into several sectors which include the galleries, public, film and magazine exhibitions. The sectors are open to the public but require the purchase of tickets for admission. Art Basel Miami Beach runs through December 3rd-6th. Show information and tickets are available online
