Quick Tech Review: Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (Updated)

Had to do it! Been putting off getting a new phone for years. One, because a lot of the new phones are so similar and Two, because there's always something bigger and better coming out next month.  Well, today I picked my SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 EDGE 64GB pre-order from Best Buy.  My Galaxy S3 still was capable of doing everything I needed but with this latest Galaxy phone, Samsung has stepped it up a bit.

After having the phone all of 3 hours, I will say I'm pretty comfortable with it and I am enjoying the phone a lot.  The battery not being replaceable was a tough pill to swallow, but this wireless charging feature almost makes up for it.  Although, I now see that everyone will want to own multiple wireless charging bases which is good news for the manufacturers. I'm sure everyone owned several chargers by now that fit their devices, but now you'll want this new charger without being upset that they just changed the shape or size and forced it on you like manufacturers have done in the past.

Updated 4/27/15:
Today, I learned a very important action needed for anyone who is interested in getting the most out of their camera. I never thought to click on the Download button in the Mode menu, but this article explains why it is important to do so. I had just assumed the Download link would just take me somewhere to purchase something. http://www.cnet.com/au/how-to/how-to-download-extra-camera-modes-on-the-galaxy-s6-s6-edge/

Getting back to the phone features, I have to say the screen on this S6 is excellent and having the Edge screen is as fun and as unnecessary as I had hoped.  The only drawback I have noticed so far is that if a video wraps around the Edge then there is a possibility of high glare that can affect viewing.  Some videos wrapped the Edge and some didn't.  However, the Edge is a very nice feature when scrolling horizontally and having that affect of items going up and over the screen.  Additionaly, I don't know if it's new or just new to me, but the change of the left soft key to show the open windows is a nice touch.

I've only had the phone for a few hours, so let me get back to my 'New Gadget Day', and I'll come back and add to this post if I find some noteworthy items - good or bad.

UPDATE:

PROS:
Processor opens, runs and closes apps quickly.
Display is crisp and colorful
Edge display is fun and adds some interest to the phone
Camera is fantastic!!!
Fingerprint scanner lock is a definite plus (Not a swipe kind like other phones. Just press)
I enjoy the look and feel of the slim, metal body
The a/v remote control feature is another definite plus for me
Dedicated recent app key is a nice feature

CONS:
Edge display needs more functionality
Edge display can also cause glares
(**Updated**) Battery life is not good enough for non-removable back. I had this as a Con but battery life is actually quite good if your carrier has a strong signal where you are spending time.
Speaker is only Fair/Good not excellent compared to other high end phones.
Volume keys are too high up on the phone for me personally
(**Updated**) Apparently, the accelerometer burning out due to the rapid charging can be an issue. It happened to me and I am on my way to get my phone replaced now.  Samsung seems to have this problem under control now if you are just buying your phone.
